Springbrook's Parent Liaison

Hello my name is Laura Ross, Parent Liaison at Springbrook Elementary School!  I have two children who attend Westerly Public Schools.  As Parent Liaison, I am here to help the students at Springbrook achieve academic success through a wide variety of school based activities, as well foster excellent communication between parents and the school.  The success of a child in school is greatly enhanced by the involvement of their parents and family.  I am also here as a safe ear to talk to and find solutions together.

You can always reach me at lross@westerly.k12.ri.us.  Together we can make great students even greater!

Springbrook Elementary School Mission Statement:  The Mission of Spingbrook Elementary School is to provide a safe learning environment, fostering and encouraging each child to become a productive citizen, taking responsibility for self, others, and supporting community.  Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe!

Department Announcements
Springbrook change in pick up procedures
Dear Families:

IMPORTANT: Changes to pick up procedures

The Springbrook Community and Westerly Public Schools have assessed current traffic patterns during dismissal and will be making some improvements to the procedures for students who are picked up starting Monday, March 13, 2017. As always, it is our greatest priority to ensure the safety of the members of our community.

Family members who are picking up children will enter the Springbrook driveway prior to 3:05 pm and line up along the rear of the gym. Staff members will be posted at the second door to sign students out upon arrival of the person they are being dismissed to. Cars will then proceed through the back gate onto Spencer Drive. All traffic will follow the white traffic arrows.

As you proceed through the lot, it is important to drive slowly and be aware of children, other vehicles and buses. If the lights on a bus are flashing red, you must stop, even in the parking lot. The rear gate will be opened for existing traffic only.

Again, it is our goal to improve our dismissal procedures while ensuring the safety of all Springbrook community members. Please let us know of any suggestions and/or concerns you may have as we roll out these changes at (401) 348-2298 or smartin@westerly.k12.ri.us, as we will make adjustments as needed.

Please note: Walkers will continue to exit through the lover level rear door of the building.

Important reminder: If you are dropping your child off in the morning or picking up during the school day, you must use one of our visitor's parking spots located to the right of the front entrance to the school, as it is unsafe to leave vehicles idling in front of the school entrance.

Best regards,

Susan Martin
